Ques. 1JEE Main 2026, 5 April (Morning Shift)

The values of pressure equilibrium constant recorded at different temperatures for the following equilibrium reaction have been given below A(g) B(g) + C(g) array|c|c| 1T ( K-1) & 10 Kp \ 0.05 & 3.5 \ 0.06 & 2.5 \ 0.07 & 1.5 \ array The magnitude of H R calculated from the above data is . (Nearest integer)

Answer

230

Solution

van't Hoff equation: 10 Kp = - H 2.303R 1T + constant

⇒ A plot of 10 Kp vs 1T is a straight line of slope - H 2.303R

Slope = 1.5 - 3.50.07 - 0.05 = -20.02 = -100 K

(the three points lie on one line: each 0.01 rise in 1/T lowers log Kp by 1)

⇒ H 2.303R = 100

∴ H R = 230.3 230 K

Answer: 230
