NEET 2013MCQMedium📈 Topic in 25% papers+4−1
Ques. 1NEET 2013

A diagram showing axon terminal and synapse is given. Identify correctly at least two of A - D. [Figure]

  1. A - Receptor, C - Synaptic vesicles
  2. A - Neurotransmitter, B - Synaptic cleft
  3. C - Neurotransmitter, D - Ca++
  4. B - Synaptic connection, D - K+

Answer

(1) A - Receptor, C - Synaptic vesicles

Solution

In the figure, C points to the round membrane-bound sacs in the axon terminal filled with neurotransmitter; these are synaptic vesicles.

A points to the protein on the post-synaptic membrane to which the released neurotransmitter binds; it is a receptor.

As per NCERT, the released neurotransmitters bind to their specific receptors present on the post-synaptic membrane.

B is the synaptic cleft and D marks the calcium ion channel, so options (2), (3) and (4) are not correct.

Answer: (1)

Ques. 2NEET 2013

Parts A, B, C and D of the human eye are shown in the diagram. Select the option which gives correct identification along with its functions/characteristics. [Figure]

  1. B - Blind spot - Has only a few rods and cones.
  2. A - Retina - Contains photoreceptors, i.e., rods and cones.
  3. C - Aqueous chamber - Reflects the light which does not pass through the lens.
  4. D - Choroid - Its anterior part forms ciliary body.
