  3. [figure]
  4. [figure]

Answer

(4) [figure]

Solution

As per NCERT, ketones react with alcohols in the presence of dry HCl gas to form a hemiketal first and then a ketal (with excess alcohol).

(CH3)2C=O [dry HCl]C2H5OH(CH3)2C(OH)OC2H5 [dry HCl]C2H5OH(CH3)2C(OC2H5)2+H2O

With excess ethanol the product is the ketal, 2,2-diethoxypropane.
