Arrange the components of mammary gland. (from proximal to distal). Choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :
- E C D B A
- C A D E B
- B C E D A
- C E A D B
Answer
(4) C E A D B
Solution
As per NCERT, the glandular tissue of each breast is divided into 15–20 mammary lobes containing clusters of cells called alveoli, which secrete milk.
The alveoli open into mammary tubules, and the tubules of each lobe join to form a mammary duct. Several mammary ducts join to form a wider mammary ampulla, which is connected to the lactiferous duct through which milk is sucked out.
∴ Alveoli (C) → Mammary tubules (E) → Mammary duct (A) → Mammary ampulla (D) → Lactiferous duct (B)
Answer: (4)
