Rationalise the integrand:

1 3+x+ 1+x= 3+x- 1+x(3+x)-(1+x)= 3+x- 1+x2

I= 12 23 [(3+x)3/2-(1+x)3/2 ]01

= 13 [(8-2 2)-(3 3-1) ]

=3- 23 2- 3

a=3, b=- 23, c=-1 ( a, b, c are rational)

2a+3b-4c=6-2+4=8
